Bart Verbraeken was educated as a pure organic synthesis chemist, focusing on bioactive structures in his Master’s degree. For his PhD (Ghent University, Belgium), he switched his focus to supramolecular chemistry. Here he worked on the synthesis of cyclic imino ethers, their respective polymers, and the post-polymerization modifications of these polymers for a broad range of applications – from biomedical uses to engineering plastics.
Davey received his Master in Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2016, where he was trained as an organic and polymer chemist. Afterwards, he joined the Stimuli-responsive Functional Materials and devices group at the same university, where he obtained his PhD degree on the development of photonic materials and soft actuators from oxetane liquid crystals in 2021. In the Orbiscope team, he works on the development of the next generation of SMA solutions for biomedical research and personal care.
Originally educated in biochemistry and biotechnology, Joshua has specialized towards polymer science during his Master’s degree, investigating polymer-protein interactions on a nanoscale level. This unique combination of biological and polymer knowledge will serve to bridge the various disciplines in which the Orbiscope products are applied.
Having graduated from the University of Utrecht with degrees in Chemistry and Physics (2011), Stefan undertook a PhD focusing the role of SMALP in lipid membrane and membrane protein research. Since joining Polyscope in November 2016, Stefan has been able to apply his pioneering research to driving SMALP to a market-ready value proposition. He is deeply involved in method and product development and, together with the Orbiscope team, continues to work on the development of the next generation of SMA solutions that add value to biomedical research.
Viola has over 15 years’ experience in customer supporting roles, and is currently undertaking a part-time Master’s in Management, Culture and Change. Since joining Polyscope in 2018, Viola has advised on a range of Polyscope’s projects with the aim of building and maintaining excellent strategic relationships. Specifically, she oversees and resolves queries, concerns and complaints quickly and efficiently, and guides the team to deliver services that meet and exceed customer requirements.
